More than five months after suffering a stroke, Pennsylvania Democrat John Fetterman refused to release his full medical records during a highly anticipated debate with Republican Mehmet Oz at ABC27 Studios on Tuesday.

In May, Fetterman, Pennsylvania’s 53-year-old lieutenant governor, suffered a stroke that almost killed him. He addressed what he called the “elephant in the room” on Tuesday night.

“I had a stroke. He’s never let me forget that,”

said of his Republican opponent.

“And I might miss some words during this debate, mush two words together, but it knocked me down and I’m going to keep coming back up.”

Additionally, he went on offense by attacking Oz’s “gigantic mansions” and his integrity.

The celebrity and heart surgeon ignored Fetterman’s health issues throughout the debate, instead focusing on his immigration, crime, and Biden support policies. At one point, Oz said Fetterman is:

“trying to get as many murderers out of jail as possible.”

Oz fetterman debate tonight:

The first and only debate between Lt. Gov. Fetterman and Dr. Oz will take place in Harrisburg tonight, just two weeks before Election Day. Due to his stroke in May, Fetterman is expected to use closed captioning for the debate.

Pennsylvania Senate Debate, this week, candidates in multiple states will debate, including Pennsylvania’s key Senate race. In their final debate before Election Day, senator candidates Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, a Democrat, and Dr. Mehmet Oz, a Republican, will face off on the debate stage.
